With 15 other multiplex cinemas in Italy, Warner Village opened its 16th in the Calabrian town of Lamezia Terme in May 2008. With 5 luxurious auditoriums, the complex is a chief draw to the new 120 outlet Due Marie shopping centre on the outskirts of the town.

As with all other developments in the Italian territory, Martek was responsible for the design, manufacture and installation of the concession stands, box office and other retail areas.

From a cinema retailing perspective, the complex has substantial advantage from the fact that the concession serves directly onto the mall with substantially improved public visibility as a result and considerably increased revenues. A challenging design for reasons of the available physical space, the whole concession was constrained to two retailing bays which were required to be shuttered as required. As a consequence the majority of the concession equipment was specially manufactured with reduced sized popcorn warmers and candy cases specially adapted to accommodate the shutter system.

The box office is also located in the main mall area and follows the same design principles as most other ticket locations in the Italian territory. Fabricated from stainless steel and glass it was pre-manufactured at Martek’s UK facility and assembled on site.
