One of the first major multiplex cinemas and for many years one of Ireland's most successful, UCI Coolock, just to the North of Dublin’s city centre underwent substantial upgrading and modernisation during 2006.

As part of the €3M programme, Martek was retained to design, manufacture and install all of the specialist retail systems including the concession / food prep areas and the Ben & Jerry’s café.

The concession counter system, which is designed to a fixed station concept, incorporates Martek manufactured popcorn warmers, ice distribution and a number of other concession specific elements made by Martek. The decorative laminate panels to the public side of the front counter are designed to be removable, providing the opportunity for interchangeable advertising messages to be applied. The resultant revenue stream from concession product manufacturers and film distributors can often offset the initial capital investment in the concession area.
