A challenging and ambitious project for this Michigan based entrepreneurial exhibitor, comprising an 18-screen theatre complex with 3,800 seats. Martek designed the lobby facilities including 9 ticketing stations, 16 concession service points, self-serve pop and butter topping, and a concept café on the second level.

Martek worked closely with the client's architects and interior designers to create a dramatic impression in the lobby, which also features thousands of special-effect fiber-optic lights. All the fixtures are finished in an eyecatching metallic laminate, with contrasting solid surface countertops that are not only visually appealing but extremely durable and easy to clean and maintain.

Faced with an aggressive construction timetable for this 70,000 square feet complex, and a scheduled opening with one of the biggest grossing films of all time, Martek worked closely with the other contractors to bring the project to successful fruition on time. Martek's installation team worked long and hard to make sure the concession facilities were ready for the opening night crowds.

Martek was also responsible for specifying, sourcing and installing much of the specialist concession equipment necessary for this modern megaplex, including popcorn poppers, self-serve drinks machines, ice makers, water filtration and merchandising display cabinets.
